The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current inequalities, by supporting the more disadvantaged pupils to ensure that they benefit from and have access to the same opportunities as all the other children.
How we intend to spend the money this academic year:-
Additional teaching assistant support;
Small group support & booster groups;
Academic support including 1:1 tuition and assessments;
Reduction in selected school trips by 50%;
Reduction in annual residential visits by 80%;
A free school uniform allowance;
Free KS2 fruit tuck every day;
Additional swimming sessions in KS2;
New IT equipment;
Classroom specialised resources.
We have also been running some innovative projects to provide extra support for our parents and provide family pastoral care, including our Learning Alongside Phonics project.
The Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body monitor the impact of all spending and interventions, including the Pupil Premium.
Information data on the achievement of our pupils can be found on the school performance tables at: http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance.
